From the product page, I wasn’t sure how likely this was to be very sturdy, but it was actually much tougher and more stable than I expected. It was fairly easy to put together, and has been useful for an extra shelf for storage on a table (my daughter has a very big desk, so it’s been great for making more space for books etc). I sometimes use it when I’m sorting washing into piles too! Nice, and pretty good for the price.

While the instructions say that tools aren't required. I struggled, and it came apart as I was trying, until I got a rubber mallet. Then it took a couple of minutes. I wish I'd have just grabbed it from the start, as I spent a good 20 minutes struggling. There are 2 solid bits of plastic that clip to the top of the leg, then inserted into the hole in the shelf. When I pushed down on it, trying to put it together, the legs would slide through the plastic clips. Same if I tried it the other way. Using the mallet, securely pushed the plastic clips and the leg up into the hole. I can now sit on it without it sliding (only as a test!). I hadn't intended on it being used in the kitchen, but it's too handy to not, at the moment. Sauce bottles etc. don't fall between the gaps, but I have used a Lazy Susan on it, just to be sure. The packaging was also excellent. The legs have a plastic end on both sides to protect them and the feet. Which were then zip tied to the shelf itself, so there's no rattling or scratches that could be caused during transit. I was very impressed with that. The finish is lovely, the whole thing is excellent. Just save yourself some faff (unless you're super strong) and use a mallet.

I have to admit to being a little bit sceptical about how sturdy this one tier stacking shelf would be once assembled but I needn't have worried as it's very solid. I'm very impressed and very happy with this unit. Plus the good thing about it is is that you can buy more and stack them so you can make this into quite a big unit. Admittedly you can't do much with one of these on their own, however it's a good side table in the garage or besides my desk as an extra perch for placing files and folders or my stationary tray. It's easy to put together and the instructions are clear and easy to follow. Everything just slots into place. Some of the poles were a little bit tight to get into place so it's up to you whether you use an extra tool to help you but with a bit of effort I managed without (and the instructions do say you won't need them). Overall a useful little table. It looks good (I don't even mind the pink) and perfectly functional. Recommended.

This only took a couple of minutes to assemble a single shelf. I only have one tier to test so can't say whether it's easy to stack. It created a fair amount of space in my under stairs cupboard, so I could out my different size paint cans that can't stack under the bottom and all four of my remaining cans fit perfectly on top. It feels sturdy so I trust it won't fall down. From the pictures I thought the colour was metallic, but it's a glossy pink paint.
